FastPIPE Bulletin JUL/AUG/SEP 2005
From FastEST, Inc.
We'll be at the ASA/PHCC hosted Network '05 in Orlando Florida at the
Disney Swan & Dolphin Hotels from September 7-10. Come and see us if
you are at the exhibit on Friday, September 9.

I will be conducting another FastPIPE training class in Orlando on
September 8. See more details in the article on the back of this
newsletter.
Thanks to those who attended the class in San Francisco.
Also, thanks to those who are using FastPIPE software and especially
those who give us ideas to improve the products. The latest FastPIPE
update includes a feature allowing multiple Generic hangers. Now any
piping Spec can include 5 or 6 different hanger types. The feature was at
the suggestion of Ted Treat of ACCO Engineered Systems in San Leandro, CA.
If you have any suggestions for the newsletter, call me toll-free at
800-828-7108, or send an e-mail to mark.oxler@fastest-inc.com.
Thank you,
Mark Oxler President
Contractor Hails Residential FastPIPE
Sandy Engel of S & R Mechanical from Fredon, New Jersey has been a
FastPIPE customer since May of 2004, and recently added the new
Residential version to his existing Gold version. About 40% of S & R's
business is plumbing for new upscale custom homes.
Sandy likes the FastPIPE Residential system, because it's so simple to
use and it gives him an accurate and reliable result. The first job he
estimated with FastPIPE was within 3% of the result he achieved estimating
the same job by hand!
Two field foremen were trained to use FastPIPE and Sandy claims that it
took about 15 minutes to get them trained to use the program. They are
using FastPIPE to generate takeoffs for materials on their jobs. The level
of detail is good enough to generate a "buy list".
Sandy also mentioned that he is very happy with the level of support he
receives from FastPIPE. He's had experience with other software that
becomes unresponsive once they make the sale. With FastPIPE, he is able to
get in touch with a representative at almost any time.

FastPIPE's Material Cost Sheet can be
adjusted to reflect accurate prices.
Training Session Scheduled for Orlando, Florida on Sept.
8, 2005
Training sessions continue to improve the skills of estimators using
FastPIPE estimating software. Over the past two years, sessions have been
offered in four locations and served over 40 estimators from over 30
different companies.

FastPIPE Training Session will take place
on September 8, 2005 at Micro Tek's Facility in Orlando, Florida
The next session will be offered in Orlando, Florida at Micro Tek's
facility on September 8 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The classroom will
include computers loaded with FastPIPE software, so it is not necessary to
bring anything to the class. The cost of the class is $395.
We chose the date and location because of the Network '05 event
sponsored by the American Supply Association (ASA) and the
Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC), which takes place
from September 7-10. FastEST, Inc. will be exhibiting at the "Channel
Marketplace" from 12:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on September 9. Our
booth is number 304.
The session covers all areas of the software, but mainly focuses on
those tasks needed to estimate jobs with FastPIPE, including managing
Specs, setting up sections, doing takeoff with the mouse and the
digitizer, copying and editing assemblies, creating reports, and
finalizing the bid. We usually have time at the end of class to answer any
specific questions that customers may have about operating their software.
Information about the session will be sent to customers. To make a
reservation, fill out and send in the application or call us at
800-828-7108.
