The On-Screen Digitizer feature allows FastPIPE and FastDUCT users to perform takeoffs directly from digital plans on their computer screen, reducing time and costs of printing and manually marking paper copies. On-Screen Digitizer is tightly integrated within the FastPIPE and FastDUCT estimating systems providing an intuitive point-and-click interface for marking digital drawing. Key features include

• High-Performance Real-Time Graphics  The graphical user interface has been optimized to provide real-time panning, zooming, and marking of very large CAD drawings while minimizing the impact on the computers performance.

• Dual Screen Layouts Work with the plans the way you want! With partial-screen layout, see your plan in a sub-window of the takeoff screen. In full-screen layout, use the entire screen for the plan and rapidly toggle between takeoff screen and plan using a hot-key.

• Point & Click Selection Takeoffs and On-Screen markings are always linked. Click on a marking and the associated takeoff item is selected from the running list. Or click on a takeoff item in the list and the associated marking is highlighted. Now you can see exactly what was taken off (and where). And your hand never has to leave the mouse!

• Multi-color Markers & Configurable Transparency Mark your takeoffs using multiple colors and adjust the transparency (bleed-thru) to suit your preferences. Change your preferences on the fly and all markings are automatically updated.

• Mark Non-Pipe/Non-Duct Items FastEST, Inc. goes beyond just marking pipe and duct. You can also count items like fittings, hangers, specialties, and catalog items marking them graphically with your preferred symbol.

• Text Labels & Callouts Add your own notes and comments to a plan to provide additional information or reference documentation for other estimators. Choose any system font, size, and other characteristics for improved readability.

• Multiple Scale Regions & Automatic Rescaling Setup multiple scaling regions on a single plan to handle inset sub-drawings. And even if you set the scale wrong by accident, you can rescale plans and On-Screen Digitizer will automatically recalculate all takeoffs to the new scale.
